The School Commission is a consultative body established to advise and support the pastor and principal. The School Commission does not involve itself in the day-to-day administrative details of running the school but develops and defines policies affecting the operation of the school and governs the financial status. The Commission shall consist of the pastor, or his delegate, the principal, and nine members, six selected and three appointed positions. Members must belong to the St. Pius X Parish or have children in the school. Members serve a three year term but no more than two consecutive terms.The School Commission generally meets on the last Monday of the month
from August through June.
To become a school commission member, a parent have to show a desire and communicate with the principal Mrs. Dotie Farewell of the commission presidente Ana Montoya-Alm. Also, the school commision might invite a parent or a parishioner to be part of the group.
Parents of current students, parents of former estudents, or church parishioners involved in school activities are welcome to become a member.
A school commission member is allowed to serve for 2 terms. Each term is comprised of 3 school years.
The shool commission mets on the last Monday of each month at 6:00 PM. The meeting last for 1-2 hours depending on the agenda. These hours count torward general volunter hours. Once in a while, the school commision might be asked to serve in a school event for example welcoming people with cooffe and donuts for an open house, etc.
Once a person expresses their desire to participate or the school commission invites this person to be a part of this group, the interested person should write a short biography that includes that reason/s they would like to be part of the commission.. The candidate's biography is published on the weekly principal's e-letter and school parents are asked to select the new member by voting.
At a certain point in time there are members with different length of time serving in the commission. When a member is close to the end of their term, the commission announces and invites other parents to be part of the commission for the coming term.

The positions are: Principal, pastor, president, vicepresident, secretary, threasurer, and 4 members. The selection is by vote or by the desire o a member to fulfill the position.
It is expected. However, there are situations (sick child, etc) that might prevent a member to come to the meetings. As for the commission bylaws if a member "who is absent from two regular meetings of the school commission during one academic year (August-June) shall, unless escussed by action of the school commission, cease to be a member".
